Mitchell helps pass bill to modernize worker's compensation
Feb. 24, 2022 9:39 am
On Wednesday, District 85 State Rep. Joe Mitchell, R-Mt. Pleasant, took to the House Floor to pass HF 2411, which would modernize the worker's compensation process in the state.
“Jim Trumm lost most of his leg when he was T-Boned on the job, and his prosthetic cost over $55,000. Under current Iowa Law, Worker’s Comp wouldn’t cover its replacement," Mitchell said, "The bill I managed on the House Floor today will help protect workers like Jim all across the state. It will help modernize the Worker’s Comp process to ensure the coverage of essential prosthetic replacements."
The bill unanimously passed the House, and will head over to the Senate for a vote.
"I look forward to helping it become law," Mitchell said.
