WASHINGTON — This year’s Moen-Rash annual library exhibit features some of the photographers’ favorite photos taken over the last 32 years.
Each picture comes with a rich story of its own, whether about a hike through grizzly bear country in Alaska, flying in a helicopter with the doors removed for better shots, or simply capturing special moments back home in Washington.
“Climbing Mt. Marathon, Seward, Alaska, was one of those things where, it is there, we are here, climb it. So we did,“ Moen wrote in his description of one of the exhibits. ”I was able to photograph a black bear chasing a little mountain goat before my legs gave out and I needed assistance getting back down the mountain, because there were six-foot ledges to manage … I was lucky enough that two men were training for the Mt. Marathon Race (the toughest 5k on planet earth) and they actually helped me get back down the mountain safely.”
The display is up at the Washington Public Library’s Helen Wilson Gallery until Jan. 31.
