It was a short and to-the-point Regional Utility Service Systems? (RUSS) board meeting on Wednesday as the agenda was light.
The main topic of discussion included an update on the project to construct a drain to outlet groundwater from a 4,8000-gallon recirculation tank in Argyle. Engineer Kent Rice gave the board a brief update on the project?s status.
?Construction is continuing,? said Rice. ?The project is about 60 percent completed now. The tank has been set, tested and any leaks have been fixed. I don?t think it will be done by the end of October, so I think I will have another report for November?s meeting.?
Rice estimated that grass seeding around the tank could be done around the end of November, but left that up to the board to decide. He also stated that work seemed to be progressing fine and there were no complaints about the construction at this time.
Also discussed during the meeting was how to proceed with the Mooar/Powdertown project. The project, which was meant to approve issuance of revenue bonds and interim financing for a wastewater project for the unincorporated Mooar/Powdertown community in Lee County, is currently at a standstill until the board can collectively agree on how to move forward.
