At 4:19 p.m. Wednesday, the Christamore House located on South Iris Road in Mt Pleasant reported two female runaways from their facility who had left approximately 15 minutes earlier, according to a report from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department. The girls later returned on their own accord.
Just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, the same two females and two males ran away from the facility, which was reported 10 minutes later to law enforcement.
The report stated that at 9:05 p.m., a local citizen located them going through his vehicle and chased them off and notified law enforcement.
A subsequent report on Thursday morning from the police department said that there had been a report of a stolen car near Christamore House.
At this time they are still missing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Mt Pleasant Police Department.
According to the department, there have been 13 calls at the facility in the past six days, and charges were filed when warranted.
Anyone with concerns about the facility and issues there is encouraged to contact the Director of DHS via email director@dhs.state.ia.us, Juvenile Court Services Michael.Rempe@iowacourts.gov or local elected officials State Rep.
