WASHINGTON - Reading, fashion and crafts, the Washington Public Library has a variety of events in February for teens and adults.
Blind Date
Single? In a relationship? 'It's complicated?” No matter.
During the entire month of February, you can head to the Washington Public Library and have a blind date with a book. 'Blind Date with a Book,” is back, and it's not just for adults this year. Tweens and teens will have their own selection of books. This will be going on the entire month.
Recycled Runway
We challenge you to design a piece of clothing out of recycled material. This event is open to all ages. Need book pages? We got you covered. Send pictures of your completed look to jenisa.harris@washington.lib.ia.us by Feb. 28. The outfit with the most votes on Facebook will be the winner.
Anti-Valentine's Day
Celebrate your aversion to all things Valentine's Day with food, games, crafts and fun. Email jenisa.harris@washington.lib.ia.us to register and set up a time to pick up your party kit. Zoom, Friday, Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. This is for sixth- through 12th-graders.
Emoji Pillows
Learn how to make no sew emoji pillows over Zoom. Email jenisa.harris@washington.lib.ia.us to register and set up a time to pick up your craft kit. Monday, Feb. 22, at 4 p.m. This is for third- through 12th-graders.
