The Mt. Pleasant area received .78 inches of precipitation beginning Wednesday afternoon and extending throughout the evening. All of the moisture came in the form of snow. Using the standard rule-of-thumb that one-tenth of an inch of moisture equals one inch of snow, that would make nearly eight inches of snow.
To the naked eye, however, snowfall looks to be more in the five- or six-inch range.
