Motorcyclist dies in collision

OTTUMWA - A motorcyclist died Monday after colliding with a van in Ottumwa.

Tyler Michael Jordan, 25, of Ottumwa, was transported to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center by ambulance, where he later died from injuries sustained in the collision.

According to a news release from the Ottumwa Police Department, Jordan's 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Gladys Maribel De Aldana, 40, of Ottumwa, at the intersection of Sheridan and Vine Street in Ottumwa. The collision occurred at about 10:34 p.m.

Jordan was the only passenger on the motorcycle. The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer was uninjured.

No charges have been filed in this case, which is under investigation.
