MP girls crush Aldo Leopold
The Mt. Pleasant seventh-grade girls? ?A? team defeated Aldo Leopold handily on Tuesday, 59-9, and the ?B? team also picked up a win in the home contest.
In the A game, Mt. Pleasant jumped out to a 16-0 lead in the first quarter, and the Panthers were up 34-4 at halftime. They cruised through the second half on their way to victory. The team is now 4-0 on the season.

In the A game, Mt. Pleasant jumped out to a 16-0 lead in the first quarter, and the Panthers were up 34-4 at halftime. They cruised through the second half on their way to victory. The team is now 4-0 on the season.
Kalynn Batey scored 18 points to pace Mt. Pleasant. Taylor Murray also broke into double figures, putting up 14 points.
Ashlee Menke added eight points and Jackie Fraise tallied six. Audrey Barnes and Bailey Batten chipped in four points apiece, while Hanna Schinstock, Delaney McDowell and Sydni Wilson each scored two.
The B team played only half a game due to a lack of players on Aldo Leopold?s side, but the Panthers came out on top of a 10-8 decision and are now 3-1 on the season.
Kinsey Bruggemeyer scored six points to lead Mt. Pleasant, while Brianna Bowman and Julia Pross put in two points each.
The girls play again Monday when they host Keokuk at 4:30 p.m.
