The Mt. Pleasant seventh-grade girls? basketball ?A? team came out ahead of Ottumwa last week, but the Panthers fell to Fairfield this week.

The Mt. Pleasant seventh-grade girls? basketball ?A? team came out ahead of Ottumwa last week, but the Panthers fell to Fairfield this week.
Kalynn Batey had 15 points for the Panthers in their 36-13 win over Ottumwa, outscoring the Bulldogs on her own.
Taylor Murray chipped in nine points and Ashlee Menke added five for Mt. Pleasant. Audrey Barnes scored four and Pearl Krieger-Coble tallied two points, while Jackie Fraise contributed one.
In the ?B? game, Mt. Pleasant defeated Ottumwa, 10-6, led by Krieger-Coble?s six points. Bailey Batten and Corissa Williams each scored two points.
In the ?C? game, Mt. Pleasant?s Brianna Bowman led the Panthers to an 11-8 win with five points. Julie Pross scored four and Keri Herr had two.
When the Panthers took on Fairfield on Monday, the Trojans won the A game, 31-24.
Batey had 12 points and Menke added eight. Fraise and Delaney McDowell had two points each.
The Panthers lost the B game, 28-6. Batten scored four points; Mayela Pelayo scored two.
In the C game, Mt. Pleasant lost, 29-2. Herr scored the two points for the Panthers.
The team will play at Washington tonight (Thursday) at 4:30 p.m.
