MP man arrested after marijuana found in package delivered by US Postal Inspection Service

A package sent to a residence in rural Mt. Pleasant was seized after an inspection by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service with the help of the Henry County Sheriff's Office found marijuana on Monday, June 24, at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office assisted the U.S. Postal Inspection Service with the delivery of a suspicious package to the 2500 grid of Martha Lane in rural Mt. Pleasant on Monday. Upon investigation, approximately one and a half pounds of marijuana was seized.

William Carlberg, 52, of Mt. Pleasant, was subsequently charged with possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, and drug tax stamp violation, a Class D felony.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
