MP man arrested for DUI Wednesday

A man was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated on Hwy 218 on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
John Smithburg, 44, of Mt. Pleasant, was driving a black Ford F-150 when officers from the Henry County Sheriff's Office observed and stopped him. He was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense, a serious misdemeanor, and driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway, a simple misdemeanor.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
