MP Police officers investigate mishaps
Mt. Pleasant Police officers have investigated a pair of accidents in the past four days.
Officers were called to the Calvary Baptist Church parking lot at 803 Mapleleaf Drive to investigate a two-vehicle accident on Sunday, July 31.

Mt. Pleasant Police officers have investigated a pair of accidents in the past four days.
Officers were called to the Calvary Baptist Church parking lot at 803 Mapleleaf Drive to investigate a two-vehicle accident on Sunday, July 31.
It was determined that a 2006 Toyota, owned and operated by Lillian Reese, of Washington, was backing from a parking stall. A 2009 Kia Optima, owned and operated by Linda Burden, of Mt. Pleasant, was driving past the Toyota.
The Toyota failed to see the Kia and struck the Kia while still backing.
Damage to the Toyota was estimated at $1,000 while damage to the Kia was estimated at $1,500. There were no injuries.
The police department responded to the 100 block of West South Street concerning a report of a vehicle hitting a parked car, on July 28.
According to the accident report, a 2012 GMC, owned and operated by Linda Hunsaker, of Mt. Pleasant, had stopped her running vehicle facing west. She exited the vehicle and the transmission was not in park. The Arcadia rolled back to the southeast and struck a parked car.
The parked car was a 2000 Honda, owned by Juan Gonzalez, of Mt. Pleasant. The Honda was legally parked and facing east.
Damage to the GMC was estimated at $500; damage to the Honda was estimated at $1,500.
