MP woman charged for driving with suspended license

A Mt. Pleasant woman was charged and summoned to court after it was found that she was driving while her license was under suspension on Monday, Jan. 28, around 12:43 a.m.
Marietha Takiah, of Mt. Pleasant, was stopped near the intersection of West Green Street and South Jefferson Street in Mt. Pleasant by a Henry County Sheriff's office deputy while driving a green 2004 GMC Envoy. After an investigation, it was found that Takiah was driving a motor vehicle while having a suspended Iowa driver's license.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
