MPCF inmate dies after complications from illness

An inmate who was incarcerated at the Mt. Pleasant Correctional facility was pronounced dead after complications from an unexpected illness.
Kevin Bishop, 63, was pronounced dead at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Sunday, June 9, at 12:05 p.m. He was being held at the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility under conviction of violation of Iowa Code 124.411, controlled substances - second or subsequent offense from Polk County. His incarceration began in July 12, 2017.
