MPPD makes drug, stolen weapon arrests

MT. PLEASANT — Just before 1 p.m., Nov. 3, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department investigated a drug complaint in the 200 block of West Franklin Street, a dirt lot behind McKibben Hall.

According to a news release from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, a search of the vehicle resulted in marijuana and a pistol being located. The pistol was later found to be stolen from Mt. Pleasant earlier this fall.

As a result of the investigation, four subjects were charged with possession of marijuana:

• Jaylin Randa, 20 of Coralville.

• Jaxon Lay, 19, of Mt. Pleasant.

• Cordelris Neely, 18, of Mt. Pleasant.

• Alvis Johnson, 19, of Mt. Pleasant.

Johnson was also charged with trafficking stolen weapons.

Johnson and Lay were arrested and transported to the Henry County Jail and the others were issued summons to court.
