The board members of Mt. Pleasant Arts IMPACT, a new art advocacy council for the Mt. Pleasant community, announces a logo contest with the winner being awarded a $100 cash prize.
The board is calling on residents 18 and older to access their visual creativity and help this new group launch their presence in the community with an eye catching and visually exciting design. The design should include the word IMPACT, along with the subtitle ?Impacting Mt. Pleasant Arts and Culture Together.?
The size of the submission should be 5X7, in color or black and white. All media will be accepted including digital.
The contest will run from March 7 through March 21, with a winner being announced on or before April 1. Entry forms including full rules and requirements and a submission form are available at the Mt. Pleasant Chamber Alliance office, the Mt. Pleasant Public Library and the Iowa Wesleyan University student life office.
After 30 plus years as an elementary art teacher in Mt. Pleasant, board member Tricia File states that she knows there are plenty of creative folks in our community and hopes they will lend an imaginative hand to this new group and further groups missions: ?Acknowledging that arts and culture and fundamental enhancements to our community?s quality of life, Mt. Pleasant Arts IMPACT serves to ignite and promote broad community excitement in the appreciation, support and growth of artistic and cultural activities in and around Mt. Pleasant.?
