Mt. Pleasant board honors MPTV Closeup students
May. 12, 2021 12:45 pm
The Mt. Pleasant Community School District Board of Education this week honored the students in MPTV Closeup, a student group that provides multimedia coverage of school and community events.
The students were introduced at the school board meeting.
Senior Liam Halawith received a plaque for his four years of work with MPTV Closeup.
“I want to tell you how much we appreciate all you have done,” adviser Ron Wagoner said. “He has carried this program on his back.”
The plaque recognized Halawith’s “many years of dedicated service, devotion and commitment to showing the best of Mount Pleasant Community High School.”
In addition to his work at the school Halawith has had a yearlong internship with the Southeast Iowa Union where he has written many stories about the high school and the community.
The students’ work can be viewed on YouTube.
