Mt. Pleasant boys golf looks to build on last season?s success

With seven returning letter winners (Lee Davis, Quinn Daniel, Ryan Barton, Ross Heitmeier, Aaron Schleisman, Patrick Zielinsky and Ryan Herr) from the 2010 season, the Mt. Pleasant boys golf team is looking to improve on last year?s 5-6 record.

First year coach Jamy Ball noted that everyone has a very positive outlook with all of last season?s golfers back for 2011.

?There will be a lot of competition for varsity spots again this year,? said Ball. ?My hope is that competition breeds success. The team needs a good practice ethic so that all of the players on the team will improve.?

Freshmen Kyle Kaufman and Kiley Miller along with sophomores Ryan Phipps and Drake Martin were listed as key newcomers by Ball.

The golf team starts its 2011 season on Thursday, April 7 at Washington.
