Mt. Pleasant Community High School Homecoming is now in full swing. A variety of events are scheduled throughout the weeklong celebration.
This year's homecoming theme is "Hammer the Hounds."
There are different themes for each day of the week, where students and faculty dress for the specified occasion.
Monday's theme was Hawaiian and Tourist Day. The nightly event was a JV football game against Solon at home.
Tuesday's dress theme was USA Day. Students and staff got to show off their stars and stripes apparel. On Tuesday, the sporting events featured were cross-country at the high school and freshman, junior varsity and varsity volleyball at home against Keokuk.
After the volleyball matches finished, the junior and senior boys went at it in their own powder puff volleyball game.
Wednesday is Camo and Country Day.
The theme for Thursday is Throwback Day. Evening events include Boom Night, the booster supper at 5:30, and the powder puff football game at 6.
Following powder puff, the homecoming court will be announced, along with the king and queen.
On Friday, the students and faculty are asked to wear school colors for Maroon and Gold Day. The homecoming parade will begin at 3:01 p.m. Varsity football will cap the night with a match against the Fort Madison Bloodhounds.
Homecoming will conclude on Saturday with the Homecoming Dance from 8:30 to 11:30.
