A longtime Mt. Pleasant tradition kicks off another season Saturday.
The Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market returns for another year on Saturday morning in the Wright Family Pavilion at McMillan Park.
“We’ll have baked good, vegetables, plants, flowers and crafts,” market manager Vicki Messer said. “We have a wide variety.”
Messer said that the farmers market has been a tradition in Mt. Pleasant for more than 30 years.
“We have some vendors who have been with us for more than 30 years,” Messer said.
There will be one significant change to the farmers market this year.
“We used to do direct sale Saturday, but with last year being so hard on everybody, we opened it up to home-based businesses and others like that,” Messer said.
The farmers market opens at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 11 a.m., Saturday.
They also are open from 4-6 p.m. each Wednesday.
“Wednesdays are when the Amish families join us,” Messer said. “They bring their wonderful baked goods and fried pies.”
The Mt. Pleasant farmers market runs every Saturday and Wednesday through mid-October.
