Mt. Pleasant man arrested after weapon fired in Oakland Mills
Suspect charged with 3 misdemeanors and a felony after Tuesday night incident

MT. PLEASANT — The Henry County sheriff said that Trey Alexander Lewis and two juveniles were suspected of firing weapons across the Skunk River near the dam at Oakland Mills.
The sheriff’s office received multiple reports of someone shooting a firearm at approximately 12:25 a.m.
Witnesses told deputies Lewis, along with two juveniles, entered a vehicle and started traveling northbound toward Mt. Pleasant.
Mt. Pleasant police officers spotted a vehicle matching the description that was provided by witnesses. The vehicle was stopped.
A subject matching the description provided was located in the vehicle and identified as Trey Alexander Lewis (27 years of age) of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
After a search of the vehicle, a loaded 9 mm handgun was found in Lewis’s possession, according to police reports. Lewis was arrested and taken to the Henry County Jail without incident.
Lewis was charged with two counts of child endangerment, aggravated misdemeanors; possession or carrying a dangerous weapon while under the influence of alcohol, a serious misdemeanor; reckless use of a firearm, a simple misdemeanor; and control of a firearm by a felon, a Class D felony.
