Mt. Pleasant man busted for selling heroin to minors

MT. PLEASANT — On June 9, the Mt. Pleasant Police Department arrested Travis Beggs, 41, of Mt. Pleasant in connection to an ongoing drug investigation.

According to a release from the department, a search warrant had been executed at Beggs’ residence.

During the warrant, several ounces of heroin was located. Marijuana, scales, items for distribution, and U.S. Currency were also located.

The release stated that the investigation revealed that Beggs was selling marijuana and heroin to juvenile minors as well as adults.

He was taken into custody and turned over to the Henry County Jail where he was held.

Beggs was charged with drug distribution to a minor, a Class B felony, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, a Class C Felony, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a Class D felony.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected, according to the release.
