Mt. Pleasant man faces sexual assault charge

A Mt. Pleasant man has been arrested for sexually abusing a minor.

Clayton Titus, 20, of Mt. Pleasant was arrested Tuesday, May 12, by the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.

According to a press release, police received a report of a sexual assault involving a 13-year-old child. As a result of the investigation, a search was executed at Titus? residence at 709 South Main Street, apartment 346.

Items and evidence were seized at the residence.

Titus was subsequently arrested and transported to the Henry County Jail where he has been charged with sexual abuse in the third degree, a Class C Felony.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
