Mt. Pleasant Middle School switching to hybrid classes

MT. PLEASANT - The Mt. Pleasant Middle School will be switching to a hybrid instructional model beginning Monday.
In a letter sent out to parents on Wednesday, Mt. Pleasant Community School District Superintendent John Henriksen informed familiess of the switch, alongside a schedule of the hybrid rotation days. Middle schoolers are split into maroon and gold groups and will rotate days they attend in-person classes.
Middle school students will continue regular classes on Thursday of this week but will not have class on Friday. The school is expected to return to a regular schedule on Nov. 30.
The letter notes there is no change for the elementary schools or high school in the district.
According to COVID-19 building data from the middle school, the building had six students and six teachers with positive coronavirus tests on Wednesday. The data shows 18 students were quarantined on Monday, 21 students were quarantined on Tuesday and 26 were quarantined on Wednesday.
