Mt. Pleasant native featured in cabaret show

Tickets are now on sale for the Des Moines County Heritage Society?s next series of cabaret performances in the Bart Howard Room, Burlington. Mary Carrick and Todd Brooks will bring their Broadway-infused show, ?Songs with a Twist of Lime? to the cabaret room for a two-night engagement, Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16. Both shows are at 8 p.m.

Carrick, now based in Omaha, Neb., is the daughter of Dave and Carmen Heaton of Mt. Pleasant. Songs with a Twist of Lime? features an eclectic blend of Broadway, the Great American Songbook, and other whimsical, humorous gems served up with theatrical flair.

The Bart Howard Room is located in the Des Moines County Heritage Center at 501 North Fourth Street (the corner of Fourth and Columbia). Tickets for ?Songs with a Twist of Lime? are available at Brown?s Shoe Fit in Mt. Pleasant, as well as several Burlington locations, including the Heritage Center, Iowa Store and Weird Harold?s.
