Mt. Pleasant native named Chamber tourism director

The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance has announced that Holly Jones has been named administrative coordinator/Henry County Tourism Director.

?As a lifelong citizen of Mt. Pleasant I welcome the chance to assist in the growth of our community through the role of tourism director,? Jones said. ?I look forward to starting my position and giving back to the town that has given so much to me.?

A graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School, Jones returned to the community in 2010 following completion of her studies at the University of Iowa.

?We are very excited to add Holly?s enthusiasm, personality, and wonderful communication skills to our team,? said Kiley Miller, Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance executive vice president. ?She will be a huge asset to our members and to tourism in Henry County.?

Since leaving college, Jones has held various temporary positions with local and national non-profits and served as interim director of student activities for Iowa Wesleyan College. Most recently, she was employed by Iowa State University Extension.

The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance consists of four peer organizations: Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Pleasant Area Development Commission, Main Street Mt. Pleasant and Henry County Tourism.

Jones replaces Allison Cody, who recently accepted a position with Edward Jones in Mt. Pleasant.
