A Mt. Pleasant woman?s foot reportedly slipped off the break, causing her vehicle to rear-end a police vehicle.
At approximately 9:16 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, the Henry County Sheriff?s Office received a report of a two-vehicle, property damage accident at the intersection of South Jefferson Street and East South Street.
A 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, owned and operated by Allie Liechty, was involved in a minor rear-end accident involving a 2015 Ford Explorer owned by the Mt. Pleasant Police Department and driven by Officer Bradley Gillis.
Police reports indicate Liechty was stopped behind Officer Gillis? squad car, waiting for the cross traffic to clear when her foot slipped off the brake, causing her vehicle to roll forward, into the rear bumper of the squad car.
Both vehicles received minor damage.
On Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, the Henry County Sheriff?s Office received a report of a vehicle collision in the 1300 grid of Salem Road.
Deputies responded and determined that Benjamin Fry, 24, of Hillsboro, was backing out of a residential drive when he collided with Miranda Pratt, 28, of Mt. Pleasant.
No injuries were reported. Pratt?s Nissan Cube was towed from the scene and received an estimated $4,000 worth of damage. Fry?s Buick Le Sabre sustained an estimated $3,000 worth of damage and was left at the scene.
Fry was cited for unsafe entry onto a roadway, a simple misdemeanor.
