Mt. Pleasant teen qualifies for semis
DES MOINES ? Sidney Taylor, 16, Mt. Pleasant, is one of six semifinalists in the senior division of Bill Riley?s 55th annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search.
Each of the six semifinalists will perform again either on Thursday, Friday or Saturday of this week. Taylor?s act is a tap dance.

DES MOINES ? Sidney Taylor, 16, Mt. Pleasant, is one of six semifinalists in the senior division of Bill Riley?s 55th annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search.

Acts competed statewide to qualify for a berth in this year?s talent church. The championship round takes place Sunday, Aug. 17, at 1:30 p.m. on the Anne and Bill Riley Stage. Bill Riley Jr. once again hosts the show.
The first-place winner receives a prize of $8,000. The second and third-place winners will be awarded $4,000 and $2,000, respectively. More than $18,000 will be awarded to the senior and sprout divisions. combined.
