MT. PLEASANT - The Mt. Pleasant Visioning Committee is calling on residents to offer ideas and input on how to improve the community.
The committee, who is part of Iowa's Living Roadways Community Visioning Program and sponsored by the Iowa Department of Transportation, will host a virtual presentation on Monday, June 22, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The presentation will include 'initial design concepts” on a transportation and landscape enhancement plan. The proposed projects can be viewed at https://mountpleasantiowa.org/2020/06/17/improvementandbeautificationideas/.
'The presentation is the culmination of an input-gathering process to identify transportation needs and opportunities for enhancements in Mt. Pleasant,” a news release from the committee states.
The group initially intended to conduct a series of focus groups, which were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and led to the pivot to gathering information virtually.
'A design team will be visiting potential project sites and working to develop a conceptual plan that meets the goals and needs of Mount Pleasant on Thursday and will present those ideas to the public on Monday, June 22,” the release notes.
Members of the public are encouraged to join the meeting to offer input on the designs.
