Mt. Pleasant woman facing first-degree burglary charges after stealing puppy, fishing equipment

MT. PLEASANT - A Mt. Pleasant woman is facing first-degree burglary charges after stealing fishing equipment and a six-week-old blue pit bull on Sunday, May 10.
Charges against Lacey Woodsmall of Mt. Pleasant for burglarizing a residence are pending after the Mt. Pleasant Police Department found the stolen items in her possession.
Bosssco, the puppy, was found on Monday, next to Woodsmall's property, according to a news release from the department. A police investigation lead to the recovery of the fishing equipment and other items.
According to the release, the Mt. Pleasant Police were assisted by several citizens.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
