IOWA CITY - The man identified as a murder victim yesterday by the Johnson County Sheriff's Department, Timothy Allen Becker, grew up in Washington County and attended Highland High School.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Department, Becker was found dead in his home in the Breckenridge Estates, located about three miles south of Iowa City, Sunday afternoon, by neighbor Larry Babcock.
Babcock told officers that he and his wife had grown worried about Becker's whereabouts after seeing Becker's Yorkshire terrier acting abnormally. The Babcocks also told officers that Becker had kidney problems and was on dialysis, which added to their concern.
Before entering Becker's home, Babcock saw Becker lying face down. Babcock entered the mobile home and found Becker dead.
Officers responded to the home shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, and began an investigation into the identity of the man and the cause of his death. They investigated the scene as if they were investigating a homicide.
