How will your high school experiences help you in coming years?
My experiences throughout high school will assist me in the coming years because through them I have learned countless valuable lessons. I have been taught so much in many different aspects throughout my schooling that have and will continue to make me a better learner and a better human being.
Fondest memory of high school?
High school has given me too many fond memories to count! Being a part of the Mid-Prairie family is something that I will treasure forever, and I am very thankful to be part of something well beyond myself. Through schooling and extracurriculars I have been lucky to experience joyful moments, both big and small, that make high school a happy place to be.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on your education and why?
Throughout my high school career, I have been surrounded by many great staff members and coaches. Each of these wonderful mentors has something unique to offer, but one underlying characteristic of some of the most effective teachers is the selflessness they demonstrate each and every day. Teachers are constantly putting their students’ needs before their own, and that leaves a lasting impression because it shows how much they truly do care.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you?
Two of my biggest role models are my parents. They influence me in many positive ways every day, but I think two of the most important lessons they have taught me is that you get what you give, and that no matter what situation, there is always something to be thankful for. These lessons of hard work and gratitude can be applied to life in so many ways and I am very fortunate to have such great people as my parents!
What is special about your high school?
Something that stands out to me about Mid-Prairie is the high standards that we hold ourselves to and the close knit community and culture that we’ve created. The family-like atmosphere and caring environment is like no other and I truly can’t imagine myself growing up in any other districts!
If you could go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself?
If I could go back to freshman year, some advice I would give to myself that would be worthwhile is to “be where your feet are” by living in the present. High school goes by fast, but that’s something most don’t truly understand until they are on the brink of graduation. Enjoy each moment for what it is because within each day, there is always something to be grateful for!
