In this photo from the Winfield Historical Society and Museum, Janet Williams, Larry Bickford, Lois Robbins, Mark McCreight, Shirley Bickford, Jim Williams, Keith Robbins, Gwen McCreight, Lorina Hammons and Floyd Goodman dance the night away as Caller Irvin Garrels directs the group of dances by calling out steps for square dancing.
Many sweet memories have been made in Winfield with the help of music and a dance floor. From Thursday dances at the country club to Crooked Creek Days street dances downtown, most residents have some memory of stomping their feet and moving their hips.
