Winfield Historical Society and Museum provides photos of Winfield’s past each week for Beacon readers. Do you know the when, where, who or what seen in this week’s photograph?
Last week’s answer:
Who is this fella enjoying a gooey marshmallow at the annual weiner roast?
Phil Marshall chows down on a marshmallow at the annual Halloween Weiner Roast in Winfield.
Marshall, a Winfield area farmer, was known as a great neighbor over his years living in the community. Many saw him in town working at the elevator and lumber yard before his retirement. One of his claims to fame included heling build the original Highway 218 from Mt Pleasant to Crawfordsville, but he was also known for his active participation with the Lions Club and First Presbyterian Church of Winfield.
