Scott Vantiger works with all his might to secure a pin during the ‘81-’82 Winfield-Mt. Union wrestling season.

The ‘81-’82 WMU Marvelous Matmen, as the school’s yearbook called them, consisted of 11 varsity and three junior varsity wrestlers. The team ended the season with a 2-5 record.

Vantiger led the team in stats for the season and finished second at sections. He then went on to districts where he finished fourth. Vantiger completed his season with an impressive 17-7 record.
