Neff among state?s fastest

Fairfield Middle School student Amiah Neff, the daughter of Lynn and Tammy Neff, finished fifth fastest in Iowa in both the 100- and 200- meter dashes at the Iowa Finals of the Hershey?s Track and Field Games held Saturday in Marshalltown.
Competing in the 11- and 12-year-old girls division, Neff was fifth in the 100-dash state finals with a time of 14.77 seconds and again fifth in the 200-dash state finals at 31.11 seconds.
Neff was second in her heat and sixth overall in the 100 preliminaries (14.39 seconds), and she came in second in her heat and third overall in the 200 prelims (31.01).
Neff, who won both races at Fairfield?s Hershey Youth Track and Field Meet in May, will be a seventh-grader at FMS this coming year.
