AMES ? The Iowa Sports Foundation will be hosting its 15th annual Net Fest Tournament in November and January on the Iowa State University campus and Ames area gyms.
Registration for Net Fest, sponsored by Bankers Trust, is open at www.iowasportsfoundation.org.
The basketball tournament will be held Nov. 19, offering both male and female divisions to third- through eighth-grade teams. The third-grade competition will be played in jamboree style, and all participants will receive a medal.
?It?s very exciting to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Net Fest,? said Kevin Bourke, Iowa Sports Foundation chief operations officer. ?We see what has changed since the event?s inception in 1997, but also how much of the event has remained the same.?
The volleyball tournament will be held Jan. 7 and will offer divisions from 12 and under to 18 and under.
Entry fee includes a T-shirt and trophies for first and second place in each division. There will be no charge for spectators.
In 2010, Net Fest featured more than 1,600 athletes and 166 teams, representing areas across the state from Cedar Rapids, Mason City, Sioux City, Spencer, Waverly and many central Iowa cities.
