There is a new business in town.
Old World Victorian Treasures, on the southeast corner of the Mt. Pleasant square at 201 South Jefferson Street, offers customers the unique experience of shopping and a history lesson.
?Every piece in the store that we have purchased ? from here to the East Coast ? has a story,? said Brenda Wambold, who owns the store along with her husband, Brian Wambold.
?We have been collecting for a long time and we decided to enjoy our passion with a business,? explained Brian Wambold.
The couple had been collecting Victorian-era pieces for many years, and after not being able to find a place to keep all of their collections, decided to open up a store.
?We were looking for our dream home, a victorian mansion, and we did have one purchased but it fell through due to bad wiring,? said Brenda Wambold. ?We felt the draw to this area and we had been looking for a store front and this became available.?
The couple enjoys collecting Victorian pieces because they enjoy learning about their favorite time period.
?People had a lot of class in the Victorian-era,? said Brian Wambold. ?Everyone dressed extremely well. There wasn?t a bigger time in America for class than that time. We started this collection from early America collecting through the year 1900 and that is mostly what we carry.?
