New COVID cases drop at Iowa Wesleyan

MT. PLEASANT - Iowa Wesleyan University saw three additional members of the campus test positive for the coronavirus the week of Oct. 19, the fewest positive tests the university has recorded during a week since it reopened in early August.
The university conducted 30 tests the previous week with two students and one faulty or staff member testing positive, according to the school's COVID-19 dashboard.
To date, the university has conducted a total of 710 tests with 117 students and 10 faculty and staff member testing positive. The university reports a 17.8 percent positivity rate, a drop from the 18.2 percent the week prior.
As of 3 p.m. on Monday, two of the isolation spaces on campus were in use.
