New London VFW Post 7641 Auxiliary receives multiple awards

The VFW State Convention was held in Des Moines on June 3. Erma McDonald, Carol Hotop and Dianna Klaus attended the convention representing the New London VFW Auxiliary. The New London VFW Auxiliary is known for its hard work on the behalf of all veterans and the community. This year at the Iowa Convention the group was recognized with many awards.

Following are the Awards and Citations were presented to VFW Post 7641 Auxiliary:

•Most Fund-raising Activities for National Veterans Services Award

•A $10 Award for Most Fund raising for Veterans and Military Support Programs

•A $10 Award and Citation for Best Reporting of an event with pictures included

•Historian and Media Relations Award of reporting of events

•Auxiliary Circle of Excellence-top award of $25 for Auxiliaries meeting all criteria in attaining over 100% in membership, attending district meetings, having at least one fundraiser with their post with documentation, all audits and bonding done on time

•Participation in Buddy Poppy contest at State

•A $10 Youth Activities Citation and Award. Auxiliary with most Awards and coins given to Youth in honor of their essays

•Mentoring for Leadership Award in Auxiliary training-$10 award

•Scholarship Award of $20 in best promotion of Patriots Pen

President Klaus is proud of her auxiliary members. Their hard work and dedication show in every project.
