Fairfield Mayor Ed Malloy, right, swears in the most recent addition to the Fairfield Police Department, Tyler Rysdam. Rysdam, son of Bobbi Dickerson and Gary Rysdam, was sworn in during Monday?s city council meeting. Rysdam is a Fairfield native who graduated from Fairfield High School in 2012. In addition to being a police officer, he is in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He will begin his training at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Des Moines April 28.
