The company is replacing utility poles and lines, predominantly just north and east of Central Park, to increase service reliability. An Alliant spokesman said the project is part of the company?s ongoing efforts to replace equipment that has undergone wear and tear over time. The spokesman said the new poles and lines should be even less susceptible to damage during storms. The work should continue through January.
