Fairfield High School individual speech team members Sarah Flinspachand Duncan Cochran each present their entry from district competition during ?Night of Speakers? Tuesday evening at the high school.
In after-dinner speaking the entrant must write her own speech and present it. Flinspach?s entry was as the keynote speaker for the Future Fast Food Workers New Member Banquet. As the founding member of the Future Fast Food Workers Association, Flinspach told attendees how to best become a fast food worker, much to the enjoyment of the audience.
Cochran entered in the Improvisation category where the participant draws his entry and has two minutes to decide how to present it. During the ?Night of Speakers,? Cochran drew the scenario: a computer dating service, a dragon and an upset housewife, which has to be done in a five minute presentation. Above, Cochran is the dragon as he takes the upset housewife, whom he met through a computer dating service, for a brief flight before encountering the United States Air Force.
All FHS participants received a Division I rating at district and will go to Vinton Saturday for the state speech contest.
