Boys Golf
The day after he graduated from high school, Mason Shelledy traveled to Ames to participate in the Class 1A boys’ golf state tournament as an individual. The venue was the Ames Golf & Country Club.
The first round was a little rough as Mason shot an 86, putting him tied for 30th. The second day was much improved as he shot a 78 on the par-71 course. He had one of the top 20 scores on Tuesday.
Mason finished the tournament at 22-over-par with a two-day total of 164. He moved from 30th to finishing tied for 18th.
Anytime an athlete finishes his career at the state tournament, it is impressive! Tiger Nation is so proud of this guy … congratulations!
Mason will take his golf skills to college next year as he becomes an SCC Blackhawk.
Girls Soccer
Sadly the Panthers season ended on May 23 at the hands of Central DeWitt. The majority scoring was all done in the first half with Central DeWitt leading 3-1. The final score was Central DeWitt — 4, Mt. Pleasant — 1. NL senior Elly Manning scored Mt. Pleasant’s only goal.
Congratulations Elly on another stellar season!
