No injuries reported from two-vehicle accident
A two-vehicle accident in the 900 block of East Washington Street did not result in any injuries, but did $4,500 in cumulative damage to the vehicles involved.
According to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department?s accident report, Martin Lunsford, of Mt. Pleasant, was traveling east in a 1999 Toyota Camry and following a Ford Ranger pickup.

A two-vehicle accident in the 900 block of East Washington Street did not result in any injuries, but did $4,500 in cumulative damage to the vehicles involved.
According to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department?s accident report, Martin Lunsford, of Mt. Pleasant, was traveling east in a 1999 Toyota Camry and following a Ford Ranger pickup.
The Ranger pickup, also traveling in the inside lane of Washington Street, was owned by John Roe and operated by Victoria Roe of Mt. Pleasant.
Roe slowed down to make a left turn into a private parking lot. Meanwhile, Lunsford looked down and when he looked up, he struck the Ford ranger in the rear.
Damage to the Ford Ranger was estimated at $500, and damage to the Toyota Camry was estimated at $4,000.
Lunsford was cited for failure to stop within an assured, clear distance.
