No, No, No: Kuehl, Ferrel, Martin each blank Chiefs

Fairfield baseball had an absolutely dominant day over the Chiefs, picking up 15-0, 13-0 victories for the varsity, while the junior-varsity squads won 11-1 and 15-0.
Graham Kuehl threw a five-inning no-hitter for the Trojans in game two of the varsity doubleheader, striking out nine batters and walking only two. Cameron Baumann led the team offensively with four RBIs and three hits on the day. Every Trojans? starter reached base in the 15-0 victory.
Hunter Hoskins, Alex Crile, Jordan Reid, Cade Lisk and Tristan Waugh each had two hits for Fairfield in the game. Austin Simpson collected three RBIs, continuing his hot hitting from the Iowa City-Regina game on Wednesday. Hoskins and Tristan Ledger came away with two RBIs apiece for Fairfield.
Baumann was on the mound for game one of the twinbill, earning the win and striking out four Keokuk batters in two innings of work. The junior allowed only one hit on only 25 pitches, with 80 percent of them being strikes. Ledger pitched the final two innings, striking out two and allowing a pair of hits. Neither hurler allowed a walk or hit a batter.
Reid went 4-4 at the plate in the first game, driving in three runs from the No. 3 spot in the lineup. Kosta Papazaglou and Simpson also had three RBIs for the Trojans. Baumann had three hits for Fairfield and two RBIs, while Hoskins had two hits and scored two runs from the leadoff spot.
Both Fairfield JV matchups, played here in Fairfield, were no-hitters for the Trojans. In the first game, Carter Ferrel shut down the Chiefs? offense, striking out four batters and surrendering just one walk and a hit batter. He did allow one unearned run. Cole Engle picked up three RBIs and Caden Jones had two RBIs and a triple for Fairfield. Hunter Drish also had two hits.
In the second game of the day for JV, the Trojans? Drew Martin walked only one batter over three innings, as Fairfield picked up the win by 15-run rule. Engle, Jones and Spencer Else each had two RBIs for the Trojans, while Jones and Cooper Drish had a triple apiece.
The Trojans will play on Monday against Mt. Pleasant to finish off the team?s first tour of the Southeast Conference, where they currently stand in first place.
