No-show means board has nearly empty agenda

With no sub-committee reports, supervisors played the waiting game Thursday.
Winfield Mayor Chris Finnell was scheduled to meet with the board at 9 a.m. concerning the proposed new swimming pool in Winfield. However, the board waited over 30 minutes for Finnell, who did not make an appearance.
Supervisors learned through a call to the Winfield City Hall that Finnell had forgotten about the appointment but could appear in an hour. Supervisors, however, asked Finnell to reschedule.
In the board?s only item of business, Kurt Garretson was appointed Jackson Township clerk.
The board meets again Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 9 a.m., in the Henry County Courthouse.
