Nov. 3, 2022 9:15 am
WASHINGTON — Continuing Northwestern Mutual’s 80 years of serving Washington and the surrounding communities, two new advisors have joined Sid Manfull’s team.
The newest member of the Washington team is Matt Wooldrik. Growing up in Iowa City, Wooldrik went to the University of Iowa, finishing with a degree in Finance and Management.
While at the U of I he also played baseball from 2002-2007.
After graduation, Wooldrik worked at U.S. Bank for eight years as a Commercial Lender and coached high school baseball. He now has a wife, Jenny, and son, Cal, who was born in 2021.
“I’m excited to get to know and help people in the community,” he said of his new place on the NM team in Washington
Marc Pennington has been a Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual in Washington since July 2021. He attended Central College in Pella, Iowa, and earned a master’s degree from the University of Iowa.
Before joining Northwestern, Pennington spent 20 years in education as a teacher, coach and the final eight years as the Mid-Prairie Middle School principal.
Pennington grew up working on the family farm in Perry, Iowa. He loves being outside, sports, traveling, attending kids activities, has a small hobby farm and is a huge Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan.
Married for 20 years to his wife Emily, a Math Interventionist at Mid-Prairie, he and his family live on an acreage south of Wellman. Their son, Jack, is 18 and a freshman at Cornell College; daughter Nora, 16, is a junior at Mid-Prairie; and son Bowen, 14, is an eighth-grader, also at Mid-Prairie.
“I have a passion for helping people,” Pennington said about what he loves about his work at NM. “I really enjoy meeting with clients and providing options to help build rock solid financial plans for their future while also living life today.”
