MT. PLEASANT - This year, community members will be able to enjoy Iowa Wesleyan University Music Department's annual holiday service from the comfort of their home.
The department will celebrate the festive season and celebrate student talent with its time-honored lessons and carols. The show, 'O Come, Emmanuel,” will feature traditional and contemporary choral and orchestral music paired with scriptures that recount the Christmas story.
The service will debut on YouTube on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m.
'The words O Come, Emmanuel are God's people's pleading cry for safety, security, reassurance and rest. As followers of Christ's example, the hope we hold brings us comfort and peace - knowing that we are safely in God's care. 'Perhaps this performance will enable us all to reflect on the blessings that are still before us as we celebrate the Advent and Christmas seasons,” Blair Buffington, director of choral activities at Iowa Wesleyan, said.
Those interested in watching the service can do so at youtube.com/c/IowaWesleyanUniversity.
