A historic building near the Iowa Capitol will serve as the meeting space for Occupy Wall Street activists coming to Iowa before the first-in-the-nation caucuses.
Activists announced Tuesday the Teachout Building in Des Moines? East Village will be available for protesters during a week of actions tied to the caucuses. The building can hold 650 people.
Occupy Des Moines is planning a People?s Caucus on Dec. 27 in which activists from around the country will discuss the issues they?d like to see politicians address. Some of them may then attend caucuses to try to get their ideas debated.
Occupy members have also announced plans to try to occupy campaign offices and events before the caucuses, but say they have no plans to disrupt the voting itself.
